throwing my 2 cents in rq. I think its also interesting to consider the fact that for both Aimsey & Lukey, the corruption/sculk and the cure being not fully explained to them/being lied to has been a problem before. Lukey (as Lucas) had his research on the cure first doubted, then stolen, and then he was tortured because they still couldn't figure it out. Aimsey was the Keeper's labrat: they agreed to help, yes, but weren't told any of the side effects or consequences.

The fundamental difference in tv brothers / pangi's thinking is trust vs word. Pangi gave his word to Pili, and he's fair for that, especially considering everything. But Aimsey and Lukey trusted Pangi, intrinsically, to keep them in the loop about the research, and he didn't.

Pangi doesn't think he's betrayed them (or their trust) because there weren't any clear conditions set. Aimsey and Lukey assumed that this would be kept on the down-low and on a need-to-know basis.

So: Pangi, in trying to re-establish his bond and trust with Pili/Ace, made a promise. In doing this, and not telling Lukey/Aimsey, he weakened their trust in him– they need all the information in a situation to feel comfortable, and him withholding that info is too similiar to other times they've been screwed over on this exact subject. So now, tv brothers want Pangi to break his promise (fully dissolving any trust with Pili), and on Pangi's POV, it's for nothing! He didn't do anything! But for Aimsey & Lukey Pangi withholding information is immediately breaking an unspoken promise: You won't be like them.

And just like that, my 12hr grain shift is over, I'm all cleaned up, and ready for mimi's... And there's some scuttlebutt that there's actually more jobs than what was presented on the tape for tomorrow... the worst part is lukey was probably the closest with foolish out of any of the yellow members, bar pillager (pili2) who pushed him away.

Foolish is the king of yellow, and their actions are his the same way his death is theirs.

Ever since the beginning, Lukey has been nothing but considerate towards Foolish– any problems brought up have been perfectly reasonable. In the beginning, Lukey was up for a monarchy- it sounded fun! Everybody working as one, listening to one. And then Ros kills him, and we get the line that may as well have added him to the server: "What kind of monarchy has it's subordinates running rogue beneath them?"

Lukey is always up to play the role of subordinate when it so suits him. He'll gripe and jest about it, but he listens to Pangi and Bad. When with Foolish, it's always "how can I help you" and "of course". There's an unspoken your majesty behind it.

Foolish is easygoing, and so he follows the will of the people. While he won't actively antagonize Lukey, he'll belittle him and treat him like dirt just as his faction does. He disregards Lukey's opinions, emotions, and life.

The only point he listens is when he finally realizes that Lukey is incredibly complex– and even then its from the view of a player observing a particularly interesting chess move. Foolish still doesn't view Lukey as a person– he's only been upgraded from 'dirt under my boot' to 'pretty looking beetle'.

Lukey was so justified in that speech– because it summarized the way he holds the grudge against foolish, against Yellow, and isn't just a chill guy. He may be a pacifist, but only because red doesn't match the aesthethic.

I actually feel that, out of all of Green Faction, trLukey probably had the most justification in watching trFoolish die

trBad is a Freak for Foolish

But trLukey? Since day one, Yellow Faction has been bullying and murdering him. His literal first moments conscious, his first ever memories, were of the Yellow Faction killing him. And then they kept at it, killing him once and laughing about it and then ordering hits on him and justifying it with “Well, you’re Green! You’re just as guilty as anyone else on your team.”

Foolish took full, joyous accountability for every negative action that his team took towards Green. He laughed when Lukey told him that Ros/Sneeg tried to kill him over the simple crime of existing. He smiled and said that it was all fine because, well, it’s war. He isn’t going to stop anything until BBH is dead and in the ground.

Add in trTina bullying Lukey every chance she got, Ros’ and Sneeg’s general hostility, and Zam openly saying that he wants Lukey dead multiple times, and we have the only person on this server (who isn’t Red) with an actual justification to want Yellow destroyed

Lukey is a pacifist. He has never started a fight, not a physical one. His greatest crimes on the server have been A) being annoying, and B) being gay

So it only makes sense that he was the only Green member besides Owen to have a little dramatic moment just before the execution. He actually had something to say

Yes these are all jokes. They are lighthearted. Silly threats.

Lukey lost his first life to Ros– a trauma response. Perhaps he could forgive that. Lukey lost his second life to Sneeg. It was a joke. Yellow stood above him and cackled as every bone in his body shattered. There was a moment before he died, where all he could think was shit before he woke up again at spawn. It was a joke– that's the excuse Sneeg always has. Lukey lost his third life to Pangi, pulling out a gun. It was a threat, yes, but lighthearted. He wouldn't actually kill him! It was an accident. It was only meant to be a threat.

And yet Lukey died, over and over and over and over and over. For an unfounded accusation, a joke, a threat, a failure to arrive and for a Cure. "You're scared to fall, but you have people to catch you now." Who. When has anyone saved Lukey, really saved him? Or even picked up the broken pieces on the ground? No, the only one he can truly trust is himself.

"Are you scared" "...you could say that" Lukey is fucking terrified. Not just of losing everything– but of it being once again at the fault of someone he loves.

do you really not remember when you refused the weight of the heavens? has it really been so long the punishment is the only part you remember of your crime?

atlas, the mortals will die if you don't stand strong. they throw tiny spears and slash tiny swords at your feet. it's meant to motivate you. or maybe they're just angry.

everyone you love will die, and then some. shouldn't you be giving it more? your best isn't enough, they are going to die.

atlas, we don't care that you're doing this with one hand. the sky is on your shoulders, and your knees cannot buckle.

Lukey crashing out whenever the topic of him still unable to find a cure for Pangi is brought up. Pangi himself constantly asking him about it (and with due reason) and he can't do anything about but sit there helpless.

He sits there, hollow and helpless. He knows the cure is in him somewhere, buried beneath the fog of his shattered memory. It's maddening—so close he can feel it, yet forever out of reach.

And the irony, that the heralded hero who’s done everything to keep Lukey alive—his saviour, his protector—is going to lose his life because Lukey can't remember.

hello lukey fan here!!!! Completely agree, I don't think Pili2 has any bad intentions. All of pillagers interactions with Bad concerning Lukey have been completely supporting the fact that Bad doesn't really care abt lukey, not really.

That said, i feel like part of the fun of pukey (so sorry, I had to)/pillukey is the way its almost a mental game. It quite possibly isn't for pillager, but on Lukey's end, this is the same person who tried to murder him and push Pangi away from him. And now here's an alternate, but same person, trying to push Bad away? The problem is that Pili is probably less trustworthy than Bad.

all this to say ily pillukey. please keep being your weird selves. And can ANYBODY please have a normal, semi-healthy relationship with Lukey. (aimsey I'm looking at you. cmon. you want to befriend the boyfailure soooo bad and not get into any drama.)

lukey fans i hope you know pili2 is not manipulating lukey and genuinely wants him so bad. offering himself up on a silver platter to be murdered is like third base for pili2

Lukey is not a hamster.

Have you ever seen a hamster smile while tempting the wolf? Does a hamster to others and to others and to others and to others and to others? Does a hamster die because it is careless, or because it is endlessly reaching for life, fighting against it's own nature? A hamster is considered fragile, protected. Did you crush the rodent with your own hands? Lukey is not fragile nor brittle: he survived 36 million years of torture without giving up information out of sheer spite.

Lukey is not a wolf. Lukey is not a sheep.

Pangi is a wolf, through and through. Loyal and sharp around the edges and untrained and trained with the sound of a bell. Lukey looks at people who have hurt him and doesn't bite the hand that harms, he sighs and ignores.

Be warned, though, that just because one isn't a wolf doesn't mean they are a lamb. What flock let Lukey huddle for warmth? He left the herd and in return they feasted on his ribs. He is not young, nor innocent. Who is a shepherd, and have they taken a lamb's skull to stone? There are no protectors in this world: just wolves that bite all. Lukey looks the universe's cruelty in the eye and refuses to blink.

Lukey is a fox?

If you've ever seen him smile, you'll find a smirk: the sort of sly trickster grin you find in folktales and myth. If you've ever heard him speak, silver-tongued and confident, you may for a moment forget his situation. He debates and diplomats and he loves foxes, Lukey is a fae trickster given mortal form and he finds joy in playing the innocent.

Lukey is a rabbit?

If you've ever seen him smile, you'll find fondness: the sort of open devotion and trust you find only in the softest of things. If you've ever seen him quiet, shaking and terrified, you may for a moment remember his past. He runs and hides and he experiments on rabbits, Lukey draws comparisons and runs into the mouth of the wolf every time.

Lukey laughs at danger and his breathing is too-fast.

He rings the bell as teeth dig into his flesh.

He is innocent but all vows of protection are long-broken: unspilled blood is simply too tempting.

He has the tragedy of a hamster and the martyr of the lamp and the loyalty of a dog and the mind of a fox and the body of a rabbit, but his spirit is yet uncharted.

Lukey wears the grin of a mad scientist and the body of a test subject.

There is a rabbit being chased by a fox in the lab, and it's name is not LukeyTV.

Lukey is safe, on the correct side of the glass: observing the hunt between his beloved Oakley and... Iris. The rabbit must be having fun too, right? Fear is fun! Death is terrifying, but terror is good. It keeps you on your toes.

The rabbit's lucky to be immortal. When Lukey is hurt by someone stronger than himself, he bleeds. Thankfully, people mostly only threaten that now. (A spear through his gut. His skull cracking against bricks. A crossbow bolt through his heart.)

Thankfully, Lukey is the fox. He spins his tales and he's been sharpening his teeth, alright? And besides, they're just playing. The rabbit may be in pain and its breath may be too-quick and the jaw around its throat may make his heart try to escape his ribcage but– but it is having fun.

Oakley doesn't know any better, anyways. All he knows is to hunt, and how could Iris not love Oakley? Pangi and Bad and Newt and everyone– aren't connections what make life worth living? What's a bit of blood between friends?

(And if Iris wasn't immortal? If Iris was trapped in a smaller tube, surrounded by foxes– including Oakley, who'd never hurt him– and the only thing keeping him alive was the fact they enjoyed the hunt? That it was entertaining? That Iris had information they needed, even if every claw stole another piece of their soul?)

It doesn't matter though. Oakley is having fun and Lukey loves Oakley and Lukey is a fox. He's been sharpening his teeth lately, and his fur is white.

Stop listening to the cries. It's only Iris' first day, after all. You learn to love the hunt.

imagining a beautiful beautiful world where Lukey's first kill is a High Keeper. Revenge. Godkiller.

Pangi's worried about Lukey's uptick in interest in pvp. Ace thinks its to defend against the hunt. Ros thinks hes finally showing his true colors. Aimsey is concerned. Bad is delighted.

Use Mocha's axe. Executioner, those who created Red in the first place. Do they even bleed red? Their savior, their martyr, their experiment and scientist. I hope they choke on their halos.

Lucas stands over the body of the thing that called him a speck and doesn't feel remorse. He wore black, today: wouldn't do to contaminate his lab coat. He's not covered in blood– he's far too cleanly for that– but the ground is. The axe is dripping.

Pours out a cure over their corpse. Here's your freedom.

godd tr!lukey. hes just So. its the way every action he takes is calculated, because it has to be. he manipulates and lies and plays everything off as a joke because he has to. he gave away his joy and whimsy. Read that again. He gave away his joy and whimsy.

So what does he gain from the silly shenanigans? From the loyalty and forgiveness and constant attempts at friendship and redemption?

He gets to live.

Lukey is Scared. He's fragile and nobody treats him gently– his closest friend has to constantly threaten him to feel in control, and the person he goes to the most constantly pushes boundaries and keeps him on the edge of death. Lukey's haunted and he laughs it off when others are around but something is wrong, and the only time he asked for help he was made fun of.

The only time people listen to Lukey, actually listen to him is when his words are poetry and his voice is song. He makes up for weakness in his silver tongue, and that only allows him to scrape by.
